With songs and melodies spanning 1,000 years, Alva spins stories hidden in the stones of St Mary’s: tales of alewives and good wives, pilgrim rabbits and wrestling priests, sneaky foxes and mischievous goblins.
Hear rare fragments of medieval chant from Yorkshire’s monastic tradition, lively street ballads, folk songs and newly composed music as Alva creates a unique performance which brings the heritage of St Mary’s vividly to life.
