Barluath is a diverse and innovative young Celtic folk band based in Glasgow, comprising of musicians who met as students at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. Ainsley Hamill, Alistair Paterson, Colin Greeves, Eddie Seaman, Eilidh Firth and Luc McNally excel in both instrumental numbers and at songs in either English or Gaelic, with fiddle, whistles, highland and border bagpipes, bouzouki, guitar and piano. First getting together in 2010 and with two albums under their collective belt, Barluath has delighted audiences across Scotland, Europe and North America and increasingly in England as well. This is their auspicious York debut.
‘The instrumental sets create a big, full sound … very reminiscent of the Battlefield Band’ fRoots
