Josquin’s secular, mainly French-language chansons bear witness to the diversity of his writing, but above all to the melancholy and sorrow so strongly present in his works. This concert, which ranges from the offers a memorial to his musical genius, as well as a personal Déploration by this colourful and popular vocal ensemble after 40 years exploring the Renaissance chanson. It includes favourites ranging from the moving Mille regretz and Nymphes des bois to the more carefree El grillo and Scaramella.
