The family Stamitz – chamber music by Johann, Carl and Anton

We are delighted to be able to welcome the winners of the 2019 York Early Music International Young Artists Competition back to the NCEM’s stage as they prepare for their prize – a CD recording with Linn Records. Their concert celebrates the achievements of the influential 18th-century Stamitz family: Johann (1717-1757), violinist, leader of the famous Mannheim orchestra and a major power in the creation of the Classical orchestral style; and his sons Carl Philipp and Anton, who continued his legacy in a wide range of instrumental chamber music.
