The Bach Circle

Wilhelm Friedemann Bach: Concerto in F Major for 2 harpsichords ,BR A 12/FK10
Johann Ludwig Krebs: Concerto in A Minor for 2 harpsichords, KrebsWV 840

With such a circle of supremely talented offspring and students surrounding J S Bach, the potential for collaborative music making was enormous.  Krebs was a favourite student of Bach’s and highly regarded as one of the finest keyboard players of his generation.  W F Bach – the eldest (and possibly favourite) son in Bach’s family - was an innovator and experimenter, pushing the boundaries of form and technique.  Here two concerti – charming, dramatic and virtuosic – are presented in an all-too rare performance of music for multiple keyboards.
