£15.00 (£13.00 concessions | £5.00 full time students)

The beautiful and extraordinary texts of the Song of Songs, a love-poem traditionally attributed to King Solomon, inspired Renaissance composers to some of their most passionate music. Settings of this unique sacred text on desire and courtship are amongst the most ecstatic musical expressions of love in the repertoire. We take a heady tour of Renaissance Europe in a programme including music by Victoria, Guerrero, Palestrina, Clemens non Papa and Lassus.
